The Washington Art Association & Gallery cordially invites its members and the public to view the 2nd Annual High School Emerging Artists Expo with an opening reception from 4-6PM on April 9th. Believing that the greatest gift anyone can give an artist is encouragement, we are committed to supporting the talented students from these area high schools; The Frederick Gunn School, Canterbury, Watertown, Nonnewaug, Shepaug Valley, and the Kent School.
The exhibition will feature over 80 pieces in the mediums of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital art. The art of these students singularly reflects an evolving world-view that is distinct to their generation and we admire the way in which they paint, draw and record that world. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Washington residents and art patrons Peter, Barbara and Will Talbot for their generosity in offering the Talbot Family Scholarship this year, as well as to the art instructors for their tireless dedication to inspiring creativity to this next generation of artists.
The Washington Art Association & Gallery is a leader in regional art programming, offering classes, workshops, and exhibitions by both locally and nationally recognized artists since 1952. The Expo will run from April 9th until April 24th.
