Botticelli, Bankers and The Bonfire of the Vanities
Minor Memorial Library hosts this event: Botticelli’s art is one of the most inspiring and poetic pages in the history of art. His characters with their weightless pace are charmingly graceful and open the world of beauty to us.
We’re happy to welcome Renaissance art historian Elaine Ruffolo, zooming in live from Florence, Italy (hence the 4pm start time!), as she traces the life and times of Sandro Botticelli from his role as a painter to the Medici bankers to a devoted follower of fiery Savonarola.
