Book Signing with Brandon Ralph

Join KMR Arts for a book signing with Brandon Ralph on Saturday, July 31 from 2-4pm. Ralph’s book The American Experiment presents an exploration of the patriotic symbols, the vast and varied landscape, and the tapestry of humanity that poses the question anew: What makes an American?

The book relies on three parts—The Idea, The People, and The Land—to capture the essence of America. The starkly beautiful and unwaveringly sensitive images exude a sense of timelessness that speaks to the collective nostalgia, unflagging optimism, and unending pursuit of freedom that Americans share.

Brandon Ralph says, “The flag is open to a lot of interpretation, to many uses, its specific meaning informed by how and where it’s seen at any given time. Each image tells a different story, and each reinforces a unique yet familiar idea of America.”

Brandon Ralph is a photographer based in New York City whose work explores the constantly shifting culture in America. Shooting in black and white, his photographs present a varied look at the country, inviting the viewer to reexamine topics like nostalgia, and change.
