The talented Marianne Patterson, Soprano, and Susan Anthony-Klein, Piano, are back again to present an evening of Christmas song, featuring both familiar traditional tunes and some sacred music. The event is free. Masks are strongly encouraged but not required.
Marianne Lee Patterson’s Bio:
Lyric and pop soprano, Marianne Lee Patterson began performing extensively during her secondary school education in the United States.During college a local concert organizer who tapped her for an ongoing role in the celebrated Cathedral Concert Series at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist noticed her. Marianne was featured for 12 seasons with the Concert Series during which she interpreted both classical and contemporary pieces.
While living in Singapore she sang three times with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra Chorus. She completed four seasons with the Celebration Chorus. Marianne sang for 6 seasons with the American Women’s Association choir and was the Music Ministry Director for St. Andrew’s Military Chapel. Marianne was also the featured artist in a one-woman program for the American Women’s Association and sang at the American Embassy in 2007. Marianne has been a featured soloist for the past three years at the George Washington Ball in Singapore. In 2007, Marianne returned to America by special request to headline an evening of songs entitled “The American Song Book.” In May 2008, Marianne was the principal artist at the Singapore Symphony’s Benefit Gala. Marianne “crooned popular film themes” with a seven song set of Hollywood film classics. In June 2008, Marianne returned to the United State with her husband; Richard and three children; Marina, Richard, and Meredith. Her first concert appearance back in the States was in July when enthusiastic audience members welcomed her back to the Third Annual Summer Concert for Catholic Charities. Currently Marianne cantors at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. When she’s not singing you can find her teaching group fitness classes at her gym Bethel Fitness or playing with her adorable grandson.
Susan Anthony-Klein’s Bio:
Susan has her Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Connecticut and her Master of Music in Performance degree from Ithaca College, New York. She was the music director at Salem Covenant Church in Washington, CT for 30 years. She was the accompanist for The St. Cecilia Chorus in New York City under the direction of David Randolph. She performed with that group a total of seven times at Carnegie Hall including major choral works of Bach, Haydn and Orff. Susan toured throughout the United States with The Norman Luboff Choir and the Robert deCormier Singers. She has had the great pleasure to be able to perform as an accompanist and soloist as part of The Leroy Anderson Foundation recital series.
At Western Connecticut State University she has taught class piano, private students and has been the accompanist for the opera program. Presently, she is coaching private vocal students as well as working with instrumentalists in the music program there. She is the accompanist for The Naugatuck Community Choir, The Newtown Choral Society and The Ridgefield Chorale. She has accompanied many choral-intensive weekends at Mohonk mountain, New York and Saugerties, New York. She also works with vocal and instrumental soloists in the New York and Connecticut area in preparation and performance of recitals.
