Event Details

Atlantic High is Charlotte Frieze’s first solo exhibition at KMR Arts. These exquisite watercolor paintings were made over an extended period of time at various Atlantic Ocean locations from Little Compton, Rhode Island to Bahia, Brazil. Frieze’s paintings are glowing meditations on the constantly changing equation of time, climate and the vastness of space. Summers spent on a lake in Northwest Connecticut left a lifelong impression on the artist and it is fitting that this work is being exhibited in Litchfield County.

Charlotte Frieze is a noted garden author, landscape designer and frequent lecturer. Frieze is the author of Private ParadiseSocial Gardens, and The Zone Garden series. She was the garden editor at House and Garden for nine years and the former Landscape Associate at Robert A M Stern Architects. A Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and member of the New York Botanical Garden Horticultural Committee, Frieze is a founder of the Malibu Open Space Alliance.  A former resident of New York City and Little Compton, she and her husband live in Los Angeles.
