Compassion is essential lesson that Jesus embodied and taught.  We strive to discover ways in which we can more fully live compassion in our own lives and wish to cultivate this along with others who also desire to live more compassionately.

Nonviolent Communications (NVC) is based on the principles of nonviolence – the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart as originally taught by Marshall Rosenberg.  NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies – whether verbal or physical  – are learned behaviors taught and supported by prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.  People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, increased understanding, deepening connection and conflicted resolution. (From the New York Center for Non-Violent Communication)

We currently offer a monthly Compassionate Communications Practice Group and expected to expand the program in the future.  Meanwhile, you can join us in practice – no matter where you are on the spectrum of learning.
