Come learn about the art of making a hand-tied flower bouquet from the Anderson Acres Farm team. This is a hands-on program. We will provide a vase, in-season flowers, foliage and foraged materials to help you create a magnificent arrangement to take home. We will begin with a short talk about general design principles, how to utilize what is in your gardens and landscapes as well as thinking seasonally. This program will be led by Head Floral Designer, Candace Bowes and assisted by other members of the Anderson Acres Farm team. Wine will be served during the workshop, and participants are invited to enjoy the garden at the end of the program.
Candace Bowes’ life-long love of gardening and a desire for something ‘new’ after a successful career as an advertising producer in Los Angeles, led her to seek out and embrace flower farming. After completing certificate classes at the NY Botanical Garden and UCLA in gardening, floral and landscape design and maintenance, she is now entering her 4th season at Anderson Acres Farm. Her main role is product manager of the farm’s onsite Flower Shop. She has a great appreciation of native flowers and herbs, incorporating them into her designs whenever possible. Her passion is to create new ‘recipes’ for bouquets and arrangements on a weekly basis for local retailers and the flower shop.
All flowers and containers will be supplied. Participants should bring a pair of scissors or clippers, and an apron.
