Food, Fun and Football for the Fans at the Park

Two teams left – who will win?

On Sunday, February 2, 2020, The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens will host a townwide indoor/outdoor tailgate party at the park. Starting at 5:30, football fans and those that love them are invited to bring their best tailgate blankets, chairs, coolers, and more and stake out a spot in front of one of three big screens inside the park. Guests can bring their own food and beverages or purchase stadium-style favorites including hot dogs, sausage, fresh-made grinders, and hand-cut fries from the five-star rated Firehouse Grill food truck.

Admission is free and doors open at 5:30. This can’t miss event is sponsored by Barbara Bouyea of Bouyea & Associates. “There are two things I love watching on the big screen – sports and movies,” says Bouyea, a founding member of the park and chairman of the programming committee. “The idea for an indoor/outdoor tailgate was inspired by the open space design of the park and the garage door walls of glass,” says Pels Mathews, Vice-President of the Washington Park Foundation. “It’s always fun to watch the biggest game of the year with family and friends.” says Mathews “but why host it at home when you can bring everyone to the park?”
