Event Details

Washington, Brookfield, Sherman, Warren, New Milford, Bridgewater, Roxbury & Kent are sponsoring this annual event for their residents in an effort to reduce local environmental dangers. A licensed transporter will safely dispose of all household hazardous wastes that have accumulated in your residence. You must bring proof of residence. The contractor and towns reserve the right to reject some materials or impose disposal fees. Sorry, This Disposal Service Is Not Open To Businesses Or Institutions. If you are unable to bring the material yourself, please ask a friend or neighbor.

Please label substances or bring them in their original container(s).

HOUSE
• Old chemistry sets
• Metal polish
• Arts & crafts supplies
• Photo chemicals
• Wood preservatives & strippers
• Septic system cleaners
• Paint thinner
• Drain or oven cleaners
• Chips from removed lead based paint (place in plastic bag)
• Fluorescent light bulbs
• Fluorescent lights
• Cell phones
• Dry cleaning fluids
• Floor cleaners
• Rechargeable batteries

GARAGE
• Oil-based & latex paints (See Paintcare.org – combine in one can when possible)
• Transmission fluid
• Sealants
• Anti-freeze & brake fluid
• Rust preventatives
• Engine & radiator cleaners
• Solvents & degreasers
• Dioxin seven or 2,4,5-T
• PCB contaminated items
• Kerosene

YARD
• No-pest strips
• Insect spray & rodent killers
• Pool chemicals
• Muriatic acid
• Pesticides/herbicides in 5-gallon or smaller containers
• BBQ propane cylinders
• Small gas propane cylinders
