Event Details

How Cool Is That?! (Hands on Science) returns with hands-on/minds-on science activities taught by certified Connecticut teacher, Velya Jancz-Urban.  Studies will not be glued to their chairs doing worksheets – instead, they will be active participants in their science learning.  Active investigations nurture curiosity and develop positive attitudes toward science which will last a lifetime.  Classes may include: Solar Ovens, Bath Fizzies, Marshmallow Toothpick Bridges, Marbled Milk Paper, Gelatin Streaking, Lemon Volcano, Owl or Nothing! (dissecting owl pellets), Diaper Derby (diapers and sodium polyacrylate), Bungee Jump Barbie, Gotta Brain? Getta Helmet!

Velya Jancz-Urban, former Connecticut high school English/History teacher and elementary Gifted/Enrichment teacher, encourages her students to not only think outside the box but avoid the box all together!

Cost: $145 per child – All materials provided (Please click the Learn More for the registration form)
