Margaret P. Addicks Memorial Blood Drive

The Margaret P. Addicks Memorial Blood Drive will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Location: The Frederick Gunn School, at the Thomas S. Perakos Arts and Community Center. (Please note this is a new location) Visitors to campus are invited to park in the Day Student Parking Lot off Kirby Road.

Giving blood is essential. Community members who meet the American Red Cross Blood Donation Eligibility Requirements are encouraged to participate. Appointments are available as follows:

– Online at redcrossblood.org
– By downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor App (which allows you to follow your blood donation’s journey as it makes it way to help patients in need)
– By calling 1-800-RED-CROSS
– By enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device

The Frederick Gunn School has organized this blood drive with the support of its student-led community service club, Gunn Gives Back, and in conjunction with the American Red Cross. The event honors Peg Addicks, a dedicated Gunn faculty member for 45 years and an active member of the Washington community. Addicks, who passed away in 2010, was a member of the Washington Cemetery Association, the Republican Town Committee, the Washington Garden Club, the Village Improvement Society, the Zoning Board of Appeals and other civic organizations.
