Event Details

The Gunn Museum announces an Exhibit Open House on Saturday August 19th at 11:00am. The public is invited to view the museum’s new exhibition “Homespun Virtue” and revisit its permanent exhibit “Washington, Connecticut – An American Story.”

Homespun Virtue features selected Washington textiles from fine needlework to the beautiful gowns of our past residents.

“The new exhibit is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the museum’s textile collection” said museum curator Amy Campanaro. Featured artifacts include embroidered doilies, gowns, Wheeler and Wilson and Singer sewing machines.

The Gunn Museum collects, preserves, interprets and exhibits the history of Washington and its surroundings villages; we are housed in a historic 1781 home on the Washington Green.
