Investigate the heart of Steep Rock Preserve and uncover its history on a fall outing with Steep Rock Association (SRA) on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

Carol Santoleri is a landscape historian and photographer who has spent the past twenty years hiking the trails of Steep Rock Association. Having recently authored The History of Steep Rock Association: The Jewel in the Crown, she will be leading a three-mile walking tour through sections of the Steep Rock Preserve that were originally part of SRA founder Ehrick Rossiter’s turn of the twentieth century riverside retreat.

Meet at Steep Rock Preserve’s main parking area at 2 Tunnel Road, Washington Depot, CT 06794. Promptly at 10:00am, the group will caravan down Tunnel Road to the start of the hike. Hiking footwear and water is recommended.

Given COVID-19 health concerns, attendance will be limited. All participants will be required to maintain social distancing and wear a mask for the duration of the program.

Registration is required and donations are gratefully accepted.
