Still life has always been extraordinary for painters. Bonnard’s tables full of food, Marandi’s bottles and cans that bring his town of Bologna to life as he transforms ordinary objects into an architecture of stillness. The challenge of this exhibit is to take the most banal and persistent things that never get honored in art and to memorialize them.
