The Washington Green Fair has delighted Litchfield County residents for over 50 years. The annual fair features a giant tag sale, silent and live auctions, food, book sale, activities for children and much, much more! Proceeds will be used for the maintenance of the historic Washington Green and Meetinghouse.
This year’s Green Fair will take place on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 from 9am to 2pm. Plenty of parking spaces are available close by the Washington Green. The address for GPS directions is 6 Kirby Road, Washington, CT.
Highlights for this year’s 2019 Green Fair include:
Live Auction: Set to begin at 12:30. Check back soon for details of our live auction items.
Silent Auction: Items will be available that have been generously donated by local residents and businesses. Check back soon for details of our live auction items.
Traditional Yankee Bakery: Pies, cakes, cookies and a whole host of home made baked goodies will be offered.
Plant and Garden Shop: Plants from local gardens and nurseries will be available for purchase.
Tag Sale: The doors of the Parish Hall will open for the tag sale at 9:00. Great prices on kitchen appliances, utensils, glasses, games, vases, toys, prints, chairs, head and foot bed boards, garden urns, bookcase, and much more!
Furniture Tent: The Green Fair will include tent dedicated to selling a wide variety of furniture, that includes dining tables and chairs, highboys, desks, coffee tables and much more.
Gift Boutique: Lovely items for the home that include fine chinaware, vases, paintings and more.
Used Book Emporium: A mega-used books sale will be held with all categories including biographies, novels, history, mysteries, romances, self-help, poetry, and “how to.”
Ladies Accessories Booth: Fair goers can choose from a wide selection of haut couture purses, scarves and jewelry.
Children’s Items: Toys, books, sporting goods and more.
The Kid’s Corner: will feature local artists painting kids’ faces, a jumpy house, hayrides in a horse-drawn wagon, and plenty of used toys!
Food Tent: Visitors can enjoy a morning egg sandwich or a lunch of hot dogs or burgers plus soft drinks. In addition, the Cook House Restaurant will be selling their delicious ribs, with cole slaw, baked beans and homemade cornbread.
