The Washington Environmental Council (WEC) is holding their annual Earth Day Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 27th. WEC invites residents, businesses, and community groups to “Adopt a Road” by committing to cleaning up one or more roads during Washington’s Earth Week, which runs from Wednesday, April 24th through Monday, April 29th. Notify WEC of your road adoption by emailing your name and road choice(s) to: [email protected].

Complimentary trash bags will be available in the foyer at Bryan Memorial Town Hall all week. Trash collected for Earth Day may be deposited in the dumpster in front of Town Hall. For those unable to participate on Saturday, the dumpster will be available from Wednesday, April 24th through Monday, April 29th. The Town of Washington is providing a shredder free of charge to residents Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. – noon.
