The Camera as a Garden Tool

Join noted garden photographer Rich Pomerantz for a two day workshop that will enhance and sharpen your photography skills in the unique environment of Hollister House Garden.

Day one will consist of an overview of the basics of photographing in a garden setting: evaluating light conditions, understanding camera functions and finding the points of view that best portray what you are seeing.

Day two will take these concepts deeper, noting the design of the garden and integrating that design with your own visual narrative, thereby creating images that reflect your unique way of seeing.

Each day will begin with a short lecture in the barn at 7:30am followed by hands-on one-on-one instruction in the garden. At 10am the group comes inside to discuss the challenges of the morning and have a deeper explanation of the basic concepts reviewed earlier. break for lunch at 11:30 and return at 1 to review and discuss the morning’s images. At 3:30 return to the to photogrpah with more one-on-one instruction.

Bring a bag lunch. Water, soft drinks and snacks provided.
