About
The mission of the Gunn Historical Museum is to collect, preserve, and share the objects and stories which illuminate the history of Washington. It was founded in 1899 by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was originally called the Judea Historical Room. After the Gunn Library was built in 1908, this small museum moved into a room in the basement of the library. In 1965, June Willis bequeathed her house to the library and the museum moved next door. Today, the museum is still a neighbor to the Gunn Memorial Library and continues with its mission to document the history of Washington.
