About

Donated by the Van Sinderen family, the section northeast of the Depot is known as Hidden Valley, a 727-acre tract characterized by densely wooded hillsides cascading into the meandering river below. This area includes a rocky high point and small meadows which are accessible by hiking trails. Trails and woods roads remaining from the Van Sinderen’s equestrian and carriage-driving days although many trails are not marked. A footbridge built across the Shepaug River in 1985 makes possible many pleasant loop walks.
