The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens

The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is an event space and a vibrant cultural hub for the Washington community. Formerly a gas station, the site was transformed into a park by a small group of local residents who wanted to create a central gathering space where people could relax as well as engage in cultural and educational activities. Its overall mission is to enhance the quality of life of local residents while also supporting the economic development of the town and local businesses.

  • From June to October, The Judy Black Park hosts a farmers market that features local produce from Connecticut farmers as well as items from local businesses.
  • When the weather is pleasant, The Park offers outdoor movie nights that screen modern films as well as old classics.
  • Throughout the year, The Judy Black Park partners with the Washington Art Association & Gallery as well as talented local artists to present exhibits showcasing different mediums.
