Tennis is a favorite recreational activity among local Washington residents. While memberships are required to use the tennis courts at the town’s country clubs, there are two public tennis facilities that welcome visitors. There are four tennis courts at the Shepaug Valley High School and courts at the Washington Elementary School open to visitors throughout the year. No reservations are necessary and courts are available on a first come, first served basis.
