Washington Kicks Off Summer at the Community Block Party

Last Friday, June 4th was a happy day of celebration in Washington as the town kicked off summer with the Community Block Party! This special event was hosted by the Washington Business Association, the Washington Economic & Community Development Committee, and Washington Parks and Recreation and supported by our wonderful business community.

The Community Block Party was the perfect time to come together and celebrate the start of summer, a time that many of us long for all year. This year especially, it was a long-awaited opportunity for many of us to connect with our community again. We all enjoyed live music by Jazz for Juniors, raffles and giveaways by our local businesses, and the Community Sidewalk Mural in the Depot. Families were able to participate in a town scavenger hunt, enjoy food and drink tastings, and lots of fun entertainment during the event. It was a beautiful afternoon (even the rain held out!) and a reminder of the strength of community here in Washington.

Thank you to all the organizations and businesses that made the Community Block Party a great success, we know this sweet summer tradition is here to stay! View the event’s lineup of activities
