Spend an evening with Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer and enjoy a performance by dance company Pilobolus inspired by her work.
Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer (Citizen Potawatomi Nation) is visiting Washington CT! Join us for an evening structured around connecting people with a healthier relationship to Mother Earth, as well as to all of our relatives, human and non-human alike. Robin Wall Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, professor, and best-selling author of several works, including Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants.
Dr. Kimmerer will participate in a moderated question & answer session about her work, which focuses on traditional ecological knowledge and how it can be used to foster sustainability and envision a future of healing. Attendees will also be treated to a performance of The Ballad, a piece by local dance company Pilobolus, largely inspired by her work. Following this, Dr. Kimmerer will conduct a book signing.
Tickets are limited so pre-registration is required.
This FREE event is brought to you by the Institute for American Indian Studies, The Frederick Gunn School, The Taft School, a grant from the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation & generous donors of Northwest Corner Gives.
