Event Details
The Institute for American Indian Studies’ Annual Green Corn Festival will take place at the River Walk Pavilion on August 15th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Corn is an integral part of the annual lifecycle of Native American people. When the first tender ears are ripe for picking it is cause for celebration. Welcome the first corn of the season with exciting activities including drumming, dancing, children’s activities, Native vendors, stories and more! We are pleased to welcome the Native Nations Dance Troupe led by Erin Meeches, Schaghticoke Tribal Nation. Enjoy the music, Native American food, and check out artwork by local vendors. Join the fun at our Sixteenth Annual Green Corn Festival!
