Atlatl Workshop

Did you know that before the bow and arrow many cultures throughout the world used atlatls to hunt?  Such dart throwers enabled hunters to throw darts faster and farther than by hand alone.  Under the guidance of IAIS Educator Susan Scherf, you will learn about its history and the different designs of this ancient weapon before making your own atlatl and dart.  Then, practice throwing your own atlatl in a just-for-fun competition.

Note: Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
