Event Details

The Hickory Stick Bookshop joins local author and speaker, Amy Julia Becker, at Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens on Sunday, April 24th from 4 to 6 pm, in celebration of her new book, To Be Made Well.

In To Be Made Well, Becker weaves together her own story with reflections on biblical accounts of Jesus’ healing work, providing fresh insight into both the nature of healing and the pathway to healing, then and now. This book is a powerful invitation to personal, spiritual, and social healing as we reconnect to our bodies and souls, to God, and to our communities.

Readers will enjoy Becker’s focus on bridging community divisions, overcoming loss, and learning of Becker’s perspective on how the reader can be made well through personal reflection, community engagement, and the healing of Jesus.

Amy Julia Becker is an award-winning writer and speaker on personal, spiritual, and social healing. She is the author of four books, and hosts the Love Is Stronger Than Fear podcast. A graduate of Princeton University and Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), Becker holds a bi-vocational license with the Evangelical Covenant Church. She lives with her husband and their three children in western Connecticut.

This event is free and open to the public. If you are unable to attend this event, you may reserve signed copies of Becker’s books by calling The Hickory Stick Bookshop at (860) 868 – 0525.
