Book Signing with Local Author Peter Wodtke

Local author, Peter Wodtke, will be at The Hickory Stick signing copies of his new book EVERYTHING TO GAIN: CHINA AND THE UNITED STATES AS FUTURE PARTNERS on Saturday December 17th at 3.00 pm.

EVERYTHING TO GAIN explores the United States’ economic, strategic, and military challenges in an increasingly competitive world and the opportunity that a treaty between the United States and China affords. The book details elements that such a treaty would include, and how to go about achieving it.

Peter was born in New York City and from the age of 14 lived in Paris, France. He is a graduate of Le Rosey School in Rolle, Switzerland, and Princeton University. He started his banking career with Citibank in Hong Kong, moving to Beirut as Citibank’s officer in charge of the Middle East and Iran. After a brief stint at Schroder Banking Corporation he became CEO of Private Investment Company for Asia in Tokyo, then spent six years with Swiss Bank Corporation, Basel, Switzerland completing his banking career as the senior officer in the United States and Canada.

Following his service at Swiss Bank Corporation Peter Wodtke started a corporate finance advisory company in London, moving to the United States in 2000. He has served multiple times as CEO, as Chairman, as Chairman of the Audit Committee with many companies and has served on forty-five company boards of directors in Asia, the Arab World, Europe, the United Kingdom and the USA and Canada. Peter has lived in France, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Japan, Singapore and the United Kingdom, and is trilingual in English, French and German, with a fair knowledge of Cantonese and some Arabic. He is a global figure in his cultural acclimatization and in the great reach of his friendships and business contacts everywhere. He is the author of two previous books, DOTTIE and EIERTANZ.

Peter and his wife Barbara have lived on the Green in Washington, Connecticut for many years, and like him, his three grown children are at home throughout the world.
