Compassion is an essential lesson that Jesus embodied and taught. We strive to discover ways in which we can more fully live compassion in our own lives and wish to cultivate this along with others who also desire to live more compassionately.
Nonviolent Communications (NVC) is based on the principles of non violence – the natural state of compassion when non violence is present in the heart as originally taught by Marshal Rosenberg. NVC begins by assuming that we all compassionate by nature and violence strategies – whether verbal or physical – are learned behaviors taught and supported by prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that authenticity in their communications, increased understanding, deepening connection and conflict resolution. (From the New York Center for Non-Violent Communication)
We currently offer a monthly Compassion Communication Practice Group and expect to expand the program in the future. Meanwhile, you can join us in practice – no matter where you are in the spectrum of learning.
