Event Details
The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Creating Musical Readers’ is a musical literacy program for children ages 10 and under. WSO musicians bring beloved children’s stories to life, reading aloud and playing their instruments to enact or underscore key moments of the story as part of a very unique “story time,” transforming young lives by educating, inspiring, and connecting.
In this program, children experience live performance up close and enjoy an INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO like no other. A magical “all eyes, ears, and senses open” moment, a transformative experience that opens new realms for our youngest.
Jack and the Beanstalk is a 45-minute family program suitable for ages 4 and up, with live reading of children’s books accompanied by Waterbury Symphony Orchestra musician, featuring double bassist Ed Allman alongside the classic English fairy tale.
