“The Future of United States Domestic and Foreign Policy,” A Two-Part Braver Angels Parliamentary Debate Series

Join us for two enlightening evenings of civil discourse at the Gunn Memorial Library sponsored by the Washington Eagle. These debates will explore crucial issues shaping our nation’s future. Using the unique Braver Angels parliamentary format, these debates encourage active participation, ensuring all voices are heard while maintaining respectful dialogue. Participants will have an opportunity to speak, ask questions, and engage in constructive disagreement, fostering a deeper understanding of complex issues facing our country.

Part 1 – Domestic Policy Resolution (October 17): “Resolved: The private sector, not the federal government, should be the primary driver and funder of the green technology revolution in the United States.”
Part 2 – Foreign Policy Resolution (October 24): “Resolved: The United States should significantly reduce its role as ‘world policeman’ and focus primarily on domestic concerns and regional alliances.”

Whether you’re a passionate citizen, a policy enthusiast, or simply curious about different perspectives, these debates offer a platform for thoughtful exchange and learning. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a vibrant, democratic discussion on the future of American policy. All are welcome. Join us in bridging divides and strengthening our community through respectful dialogue.
