Hand Drumming Class

Join award winning, internationally acclaimed percussionist, composer and educator John Marshall for an exciting excursion into the world of global hand percussion. No drumming experience necessary, and all levels welcome, John will guide us through the traditional rhythmic traditions of West Africa, North Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, North and South India, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Djembes, dumbeks, frame drums, congas, and assorted hand drums will be provided, or bring your own favorite percussion instrument. This is a rare, and fun opportunity to gain musical knowledge, skill and confidence in a safe, welcoming and inspirational environment. Call co-op for details.
