Colored pencil is a versatile medium for creating brilliantly colored patterns such as those seen on Monarchs. Through using a variety of techniques including color layering and burnishing you will find this medium to be perfect for capturing the intricate details and different color densities of these beautiful creatures. This workshop will focus exclusively on developing colored pencil skills – you will be working with a template of a Monarch provided by the instructor, Jeanne Reiner.
Jeanne Reiner is co-founder of the Tri-State Botanical Artists, a chapter of over 70 members of the internationally renown American Society of Botanical Artists. Formerly a long-time Manhattan-based designer for the cosmetics industry, she is a nationally recognized botanical artist who holds a certificate in botanical art from and teaches at the New York Botanical Garden. A Connecticut resident, her work is frequently exhibited there and in New York, Florida and California.
Due to current regulations this workshop is limited to 8 participants. There will be one participant per work table and tables will be spaced appropriately throughout the barn. Please wear a face mask when not seated at your work table. If you have any questions call the office at 860-868-2200.
