Meet the Designer: Alexa Horton

Join us for a DESIGN event with Alexa Horton, showcasing her jewelry collection, i seira. Horton’s jewelry has been described as minimal, monochromatic and elegantly simple. The artisan’s training as a dancer and architect is reflected in the sensibility of each piece, a true combination of Art and Design. Each piece of in the i seira collection is handmade using ancient goldsmithing and lost wax carving techniques. Horton’s choice of high carat gold is emblematic of her philosphy of quality over quantity. “i seira”, translated from Greek, means a series, a catalog. Each of Horton’s designs is a culmination of Horton’s artistic experiences throughout her life. There are classical references to the origins of jewelry as body adornment: whispers of Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Etruscan elements are incorporated. And yet these objects of wearable art are thoroughly modern.
