MLK Day of Service – Washington Gives

Join us on Martin Luther King Day for a day on, not off! In partnership with the town of Washington, the park invites you to learn about ways you can volunteer with and support local nonprofit organizations to make a difference in our community.

On Monday, January 15 from 9 to 11 am, various organizations will have informational tables set up at the park in addition to fun activities:

1. Attend children’s story time and craft with Gunn Memorial Library at 10 am
2. Write a letter to soldiers overseas
3. ASAP! (After School Arts Program) will be present to talk about their mission
4. Bring nonperishable food items to donate to the food collection hosted by the Washington Council of Congregations
5. Habitat for Humanity will be present to talk about volunteer opportunities
6. Learn more about the Washington Rotary, which meets twice a month to exchange ideas and build a sense of community
