Event Details
The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is pleased to welcome an art exhibit featuring works by Hugh Kepets. The exhibit, “Aalto 2.0,” will be on view beginning Friday, July 12. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 3 to 6 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
The show highlights the artist’s abstract representational paintings. Inspired by architectural structures and his environment, the focal point of Kepets’ work embraces transforming simple and familiar objects into highly evocative abstractions. With an emphasis on precise patterns and close-ups, the imagery can oftentimes lead to unexpected perceptions of three dimensional space for the viewer. The paintings in this show are images created using the forms of small stackable stools designed by Finnish architect Artek Aalto in 1933.
The exhibit will be on view through Sunday, July 28. Check our social media for weekly open hours: @judyblackpark on Instagram and Facebook.
