Event Details
This class will focus on providing a detailed introduction to different approaches to floral still life photography. Participants will learn to enhance image drama and depth through the interplay of light, shadow and compositional techniques.
After a practical overview and demonstrations, participants will experiment with a variety of setups, lighting conditions and subjects. There will be opportunities to use natural and artificial light indoors, from three-point lighting and portable rigs to diffused flash and ambient light situations. Outdoor examples will rely on using and enhancing available light.
A number of floral arrangements will be available in various containers. A variety of different backgrounds will range from light, dark and textured materials to barn wood and stone walls. Additional subject matter will include a harvest grouping of fruits and vegetables, as well as gardening paraphernalia.
This class is suitable for users of iPhone models 6 to 12 Pro Max, related tablets and DSLR cameras. Ideally participants have taken our introductory course or are familiar with camera functionality. Everyone will receive Thad’s guide to smartphone photography. All should bring a fully charged device to learn more about the functions and expand their photographic skill set.
