Event Details

The Washington Refugee Resettlement Project (WRRP) invites you to a Community Conversation about helping resettle a refugee family in New Milford. Refugee community sponsorship allows us to welcome and integrate newcomers to our beautiful corner of Connecticut while also creating bonds among neighbors as we unite around a common cause. All interested persons are encouraged to attend. If you are interested unable to attend but interested in volunteering, email [email protected].

Members of the WRRP leadership team will explain levels of volunteer opportunities. WRRP will work collaboratively with Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS at www.iris.org) in New Haven to apply as a co-sponsor. Ashley Makar, IRIS Community Co-Sponsor Liaison, will tell us about IRIS and their role in a co-spnsorhip of a refugee resettlement in Connecticut.

The Washington Council of Congregations (WCOC) will host this event, open at no charge to everyone regardless of religious affiliation.
