Restoring Riparian Habitat

Join us on a level, 3-mile round trip hike in Steep Rock Preserve for the first offering in our new Management Series. We will study two complex riparian habitat restoration projects which were recently completed, discuss their significance, and overview each undertaking from start to finish. They include a culvert removal in a brook trout stream and bank stabilization on the Shepaug River. This will be a great opportunity to learn about the ecological significance of watercourses, types of impairment, and stewardship that enhances habitat.
