Are you and your family experiencing a bit of cabin fever? Throughout the winter, the IAIS Education Department is offering private craft workshops on Sunday afternoons. Sign up for a time slot with your family and friends. Express your creativity while learning about the world around you and connecting with a culture that has thousands of years of history in the area. First up: snow snakes. This traditional Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) winter game involves a stick that is carved and decorated to resemble a snake. Competitors throw the stick along a snow trench and try to see how far they can throw it. Join IAIS Educator Susan Scherf for an hour of whittling good fun.
Pre-registration is required. Please email [email protected] or call (860) 868-0518 to reserve a time slot. Cost of participation, including materials: Museum admission plus $10 per person. Museum admission is $10 for Adults, $8 for Seniors, $6 for children and Free for Members.
