Storytelling Festival presented by IAIS
Saturday, January 11, 1:00pm

Tellabration! is a mammoth storytelling event made up of dozens of storytelling happenings all over the world. Its purpose is to introduce adults, as well as children, to the pleasures of the oral art of storytelling. In collaboration with the Connecticut Storytelling Center, the Institute for American Indian Studies is excited to be presenting a multicultural folktale Tellabration!

IAIS Educational Outreach Ambassador Darlene Kascak (Schaghticoke Tribal Nation) will make history come alive from the oral traditions of her indigenous ancestors that have been passed down and preserved from one generation to the next. Professional Storyteller Laconia Therrio will share stories from across the globe. Therrio’s repertoire includes stories from the Americas, the African continent, Europe and Asia. Sara DeBeer presents programs of multicultural myths, legends, and folktales to audiences of all ages. An open mic session will immediately follow the featured storytellers’ performances, as an opportunity to allow up-and-coming storytellers to share their stories with a live audience.

Space is limited and pre-registration is requested. Please visit our website to register online. Questions? Please email [email protected] or call (860) 868-0518. Price of participation: $20 for Non-Members, $10 for Members.
