The Washington Photography Salon

We are excited to introduce the Washington Photography Salon at The Washington Art Association on Wednesday September 18, 2024 at 6pm (doors open at 5:30pm) featuring Sean Kernan, Emmanuel Faure, and Scott Barrow.

The salon format gives you an opportunity to see select photos presented (digitally) by the photographers, engage in conversation about their work and careers, and meet other like minded viewers and artists. About Rich Pomerantz:
Rich has been a volunteer at the Art Association for over twenty years, was a member of the Board of Trustees for two terms, during which he served as Vice-President and Secretary. Rich taught photography workshops at the Association on studio lighting for portraits and photographing in gardens.

Rich enjoyed a long career in photography on assignment for magazines and advertising agencies nationwide, and also was known for photographing beautiful weddings throughout the country. Many local families enjoy compelling portraits created by Rich in their homes. His stock photography has appeared in publications as diverse as National Geographic, Yankee, Traditional Home, Frommers’ travel guides and the NY Times. Rich has published three commercially produced books on wild horses, gardens and farms.

For fifteen years Rich was involved with a community of photographers in NY City which hosted a photography salon initially in photographers’ studios and eventually at the Soho Photo Gallery. Hundreds of world class aand lesser known photographers showed their work to appreciative audiences of photographers and photography afficionados. The experience was always joyful and enlightening, so Rich has decided to try to reproduce it here.
