In-Person Event
Did you know that Native Americans have served in the United States military with the highest record of service per capita when compared to any other ethnic group? Each year IAIS honors Native Americans who have served in the Armed Forces. This year, we will be honoring Sergeant Joe Perry (U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, Eastern Pequot), Senior Airman Dante Biss-Grayson (U.S. Air Force, Osage) and Petty Officer, First Class Al Sargeant, Sr. (U.S. Navy, descendent of the Shinnecock, Pequot, Cherokee, and Pokanoket peoples, with ties to the Narragansett and Nipmuc).
Join us for an outdoor ceremony to honor these individuals, as well as all veterans, Native and non-Native, who have served our country. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to enjoy some warm beverages and light refreshments.
The event is FREE and open to the public, but pre-registration is requested. Questions? Please call (860) 868-0518 or email [email protected].
