The Lake Waramaug State Park provides visitors and local residents with some of the best campgrounds in Connecticut. The Park has 76 camping sites in both wooded and open settings that offer great views of the lake and the surrounding landscapes. Its camping season runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. An alternative to the Lake Waramaug State Park, the Steep Rock Preserve also has some terrific camping sites. Its season runs from April to November and visitors have complete access to all of the Preserve’s terrific hiking trails.
