For an easy winter stroll, visit Hidden Valley Preserve and walk across the iconic Henry Thoreau Bridge or enjoy the scenic loop around Lake Waramaug. For a nature hike along the river’s edge, visit Steep Rock Preserve where you’ll find the Railroad Tunnel and views from the Steep Rock Summit. And for a panoramic view of Lake Waramaug and surrounding towns, take the Meeker Trail at Macricostas Preserve to hike up to Waramaug’s Rock – the view is worth it!
