This Weekend in Washington

Believe it or not, this weekend marks the beginning of June and Washington has several exciting events to help you get into the summer spirit. Take a look at our events list below for some ideas on how to celebrate the coming of June and get outdoors to enjoy the warm weather.

First Friday in the Depot
Friday, June 1st

Stop by The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens to swing with The Lucky Five and to dance with instructors from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Danbury.

Outdoor Movie Night
Friday, June 1st

Enjoy a perfect June night with a movie at The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens. The African Queen will be screened. Don’t forget your picnic blanket!

Farmers Market Opening Day
Saturday, June 2nd

Washington’s farmers market begins its season on Saturday. Come to The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens and browse through a selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and homemade baked goods.

Book Signings- Maira Kalman and L Todd Wood
Saturday, June 2nd

This weekend there will be two author signings going on in Washington. Maira Kalman will be at George Home where she will discuss her new book, Cake and L Todd Wood will be at The Hickory Stick Book Shop to sign copies of his book, Currency: A Financial Thriller.

Saturday, June 2nd & Sunday June 3rd

Antiques, jewelry, decorations, lighting, garden items, prints, and paintings will be available to purchase at this lovely market underneath the Pavilion.

Shakespeare in the Garden
Sunday, June 3rd

The Friends of Shakesperience will be performing “Shakespeare in the Garden” at Hollister House.

Connecticut Trails Day
Sunday, June 3rd

Get outdoors for a little bit and take in Washington’s beautiful natural surroundings. Both the Steep Rock Association and The Institute for American Indian Studies will be holding special walks to celebrate CT Trails Day.
